You know, I was pretty calm reading the first few panels, though when Shep suddenly threw her pen/pencil (?) away upon Javik and Liara's appearance, I had my suspicion and just a little bemused. Felt my suspicion was justified when Shep, very obviously I might add, tried to hide whatever it was she was working on, and my anticipation grew. I figured that must be something about Javik and Liara (what with the title of this art being Shepard's OTP and she tried to hide it from those two)
But somehow, I really didn't expect to see a cute drawing of chibi Javik and chibi Liara kissing with hearts fluttering around them!!!
Congratulation! You just made me go from calm to instantly laugh like a hyena with that little surprise gem!
This is absolutely great! I do wonder what the reaction from Normandy's crew will be if they ever reads or see some of the fanfic/fan-art shipping them with each other. It will be hilarious for sure! I am certain that in-universe, the crew members on the lower decks must have secretly written some fanfics of Shepard and his/her relationships!
why not? Yeah they start of disliking each other, and arguing a lot, but so did Joker and EDI and Tali and Garrus.
And yeah Javik's an asshole, but so is Shepard if you play renegade and Liara is okay with him/her.
And Javik has all the qualities that attracted Liara to Shepard in the first place. It's pretty clear Javik was meant to be a parallel to Shepard. He was a commander too, he is a leader too, he knows how to inspire people and how to give orders and how to make tough decisions. There's also the prothean thing they both have going on.
In fact you could argue that he's more similar to Liara than Shepard is; they're both biotics (which Shepard isn't necessarily), they're both introverted, they're both socially awkward, and unlike Shepard, Javik actually does show interest in scholarly work.
Which is pretty substantial. Make him get along with Liara and Javik comforts her - and no one else - after the Sanctuary mission. Tali outright teases him about liking her. Given the choice between going to Kahje and living like a king for the rest of his life, and writing a book with Liara, he chooses to go with Liara.
The fact that he no longer refers to Liara as "asari," the fact that he isn't going to lie and subjugate the hanar, shows he no longer believes of himself as superior. Shepard didn't do that, Shepard didn't change that about him, Liara did.
And if they are going to be writing a book together, they're going to spend a lot of time together. Given all the above... yeah, it does make sense. At least to me.
I think she means the Mass Effectatapad app for the Iphone and the Ipad. In which if you link it to your ME3 game, you will receive additional messages from the character in the game as you make progress.
